Learning Objectives

By the end of this lesson, trainees will be able to:

  • Apply RSS’s core values and service strengths in real-world outreach scenarios.
  • Identify what makes RSS different from competitors.
  • Clearly communicate RSS’s value to prospective clients.

1. Why Clients Choose RSS

RSS is not just another security firm. Clients choose RSS because:

  • Reliability & Professionalism – Guards arrive on time, in uniform, and trained for the event or site.
  • Event-Ready Operations – RSS has experience managing 50+ guards at large-scale conventions, corporate events, and high-traffic venues.
  • Tailored Solutions – RSS adjusts coverage (patrol, event, corporate, or executive protection) to fit client-specific needs instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all contract.
  • Compliance & Risk Management – RSS ensures labor law compliance, harassment prevention training, and worker classification accuracy. Clients know they’re safe from legal risks.
  • Scalable Workforce – RSS can quickly ramp up staff for major events, then scale down efficiently, saving clients money.

2. Framing RSS’s Value During a Pitch

When you’re speaking to a client, position RSS’s strengths in terms of the client’s problem + RSS’s solution.

  • If client worries about liability → Emphasize RSS’s compliance and risk management.
  • If client worries about staffing reliability → Highlight RSS’s recruiting strength and rapid scaling.
  • If client is cost-sensitive → Show how RSS consolidates costs (e.g., lodging, admin support) to remain competitive.
  • If client needs specialized coverage → Stress RSS’s ability to match the right guard type (event, corporate, executive protection).

3. How to Differentiate RSS from Competitors

When pitching, make these points clear:

  • Not a temp agency – RSS recruits, trains, and manages guards directly.
  • Not just event-only – While RSS specializes in large events, it also provides long-term coverage (corporate, construction, executive protection).
  • Reputation for professionalism – RSS has successfully staffed high-profile clients (Amazon, AKA Sorority National Forum, GUESS Jeans).
  • End-to-end service – From sourcing and onboarding guards to on-site supervision and payroll compliance, RSS covers the full cycle.

4. Case Example: Gaming Convention Proposal

  • Client Problem: One of RSS’s Gaming Convention clients needed cost-effective, large-scale coverage without blowing the event budget.
  • RSS Solution: Consolidated hotel costs, folded parking reimbursements into lodging, and slightly adjusted hourly rates to remain competitive.
  • Result: Proposal positioned RSS as both cost-effective and professional, showing adaptability.

Activity – Pitch Practice

Scenario:
You’re asked to call a corporate client who is considering switching from their current security provider to RSS. They are worried about guard reliability and compliance with labor laws.

Instructions:

Draft 3–4 sentences of what you would say to this client in a pitch call.

Focus on RSS’s unique value as it relates to their concerns.
