At Rodgers Security Solutions, we take pride in maintaining a professional appearance at every assignment. Our uniform requirements help ensure team consistency, promote safety, and reflect the high standards expected by our clients and partners.
This page outlines approved and unapproved uniform items for all guards working with RSS at upcoming events. Please review the visual examples below to understand what is acceptable and what will result in disqualification from a shift.
Important Notes:
- All uniform items must be clean, well-fitted, and in good condition
- Uniform checks are conducted at the time of check-in and walk-through
- Failure to arrive in proper uniform may result in removal from the assignment

SHIRTS
✅ Approved:
Approved Uniform Shirt
Rodgers Security Solutions short-sleeve uniform shirt. Provided at the mandatory site walk-through. Must be worn over a black short-sleeve undershirt. In colder weather (or settings where required), the Uniform shirt can be worn over a black long-sleeve undershirt (examples provided below). RSS management will notify you when a long-sleeved undershirt is appropriate.
Approved Undershirt
Plain black, short-sleeve undershirt with no visible logos. Must be worn under the RSS uniform shirt. We recommend also bringing a back-up shirt.You need to be able to move freely and comfortably, so your shirt should be practical for the specific tasks and environment. Images of approved shirts can be seen below.









Approved Long-Sleeve Undershirts
In colder weather (or settings where required), the Uniform shirt can be worn over a black long-sleeve undershirt (examples provided below). RSS management will notify you when a long-sleeved undershirt is appropriate. You can always bring a long-sleeve undershirt as a backup, in case the weather or the venue temperature changes. Below are examples of approved long-sleeve undershirts.

Unapproved Shirts
No printed t-shirts, colored or iridescent undershirts, fishnet, long-sleeves with graphics, or undershirts with visible logos, branding, or embellishments.
PANTS
✅ Approved:
Approved Pants
Black tactical or uniform pants with a clean, professional fit. No sagging or tight-fitting styles.Examples of the approved look are included below.





Approved Tan/Brown Pants
For some events, our clients may request tan/brown tactical or uniform pants. Examples of this approved look are included below.



❌ Not Approved:
Unapproved Pants
No jeans, joggers, leggings, jeggings, pants with lace or fishnet, excessively tight, excessively baggy, or sagging styles.You need to be able to move freely and comfortably, so your pants should be practical for the specific tasks and environment.
SHOES / BOOTS
✅ Approved:
Approved Footwear
All-black tactical boots or closed-toe work shoes with full heel coverage. Must be clean and slip-resistant.Your footwear should not have charms, chains, spikes, studs, or other embellishments or attachments.
You should be wearing sturdy, comfortable footwear, with the understanding that you will be walking and standing on different surfaces, for extended periods of time. Below are images of approved shoes and boots.

Unapproved Footwear
No “traditional” sneakers.No sandals, crocs, slides, slippers, heel-out shoes, colorful soles, high-heels, platform shoes, or open-toe styles.
BELTS
✅ Approved:
Approved Belt
Plain black belt—must be worn with all pants. No logos, colored stitching, charms, chains, bedazzled, spikes, studs, gems, or oversized buckles.Examples of approved belts are provided below.




❌ Not Approved:
Unapproved Belts
No colored, studded, graphic, glittered, bedazzled, sequined, iridescent, or logo-emblazoned belts. Your belts should not have affixed or embedded spikes, charms, gems, or chains.
✅ Weather-Appropriate Gloves (Outdoor Assignments Only)
- ✅ Plain black wool, leather, or water-resistant gloves
- Gloves may be worn during outdoor assignments for protection against cold or rain. While we understand that many glove manufacturers include small logos—particularly near the knuckle or wrist area—gloves must not have any distracting, inappropriate, or vulgar logos, wording, phrases, graphics, or embellishments of any kind.
- No spikes, charms, chains, or embedded adornments.
- Gloves must be clean, fitted, and professional in appearance at all times.
- When in doubt, ask your Lead Event Supervisor.
✅ Approved Headwear:
- ✅ Company-issued hats or branded headwear, if required for the assignment
- ✅ Weather-Appropriate Headwear (Outdoor Assignments Only)
- To protect against heat, cold, or rain during outdoor events, employees are permitted to wear the following:
- ✅ Plain black wool caps or plain black baseball caps
Caps must have no logos, wording, phrases, graphics, or embellishments of any kind. Headwear must be clean, fitted, and professional in appearance. When in doubt, ask your Lead Event Supervisor. - This exception is only allowed during outdoor assignments and must not interfere with your uniform or visibility (e.g., no large brims, flaps, or oversized hats). When in doubt, ask your Lead Event Supervisor.
- ✅ Plain black wool caps or plain black baseball caps
- To protect against heat, cold, or rain during outdoor events, employees are permitted to wear the following:
- ✅ Religious or culturally significant head coverings, as protected under California law and federal anti-discrimination laws
- If you wear religious or cultural headwear and would like to notify the staffing team in advance for documentation purposes, you may do so, but no one is required to explain or justify the protected expression of culture or faith.
- ✅ Medical Accommodations for Headwear
If an employee needs to wear headwear for medical reasons—such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or other medically documented conditions—they should notify HR or their Lead Event Supervisor in advance so appropriate accommodations can be made discreetly and respectfully.
❌ Unapproved Headwear:
- ❌ Durags, wave caps, wrap caps, pineapple caps or wraps, scarves, bonnets, or similar headwear are not to be worn while working or on a client’s premises/event site.
Overall Appearance Reminder:
Personal Presentation
Guards must report to duty clean, well-groomed, and in full uniform. Hair, facial hair, and nails should be neat. Strong hygiene and professionalism are part of your responsibility as a visible security presence. You will be regularly interacting with our clients, the public, and potential clients.While on the work site, whether clocked in or clocked out, always remember, that the client is always watching you!
